Multilingual web development

One site that speaks to clients on both sides of the border, in the language they search in.
Many businesses in Baja have a Spanish site and lose American clients, or an English one that Mexican clients skip. A translate button on top of the page doesn't help: Google doesn't index it and the text reads like a machine wrote it.
The second version is a proper one: each page has its own address in English and Spanish, the text is adapted rather than translated word for word, prices and contact options make sense for each audience, and Google knows which version to show to whom.

Questions
Can you translate my current site?
Usually yes. If the current site can hold a second language properly, it gets added. If not, a rebuild is suggested, with the reasons explained.
Who writes the texts?
The studio does, in both languages, from what you send in writing. You approve every page before it goes live.
Why not just add a translate button?
Google doesn't index that translated text, and it reads like a machine wrote it. A separate page for each language fixes both.
How does Google know which language to show?
hreflang is set up to tell Google which version is for English searchers and which is for Spanish.
Can I show different prices to US and Mexican clients?
Yes. Prices and contact options are adapted on each version so they make sense for that audience.
